Today we had our On-The-Spot-Admission event for CWU. Seniors with a GPA of 2.0 or higher were able to apply to CWU for free. Those that have a 2.5 were admitted on the spot and offered a scholarship that ranged from $1500-$3000 to use for tuition. So proud of our Warriors and future CWU Wildcats... oh, and Mr. Berk who had to get in on the action!
Reminder that there's no school tomorrow, Monday November 11th, in observance of Veteran's Day. We extend our deepest gratitude to all veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and commitment. Thank you for your service.
We would like to take a moment and introduce you to Chelsea Stoddard! Ms. Stoddard has been hired to be a bus driver for the Cle Elum Roslyn School District. Prior to working with us, she drove at the Issaquah School District for several years, has worked for Lil' Explorers, and she has 3 children in our district. She drives route B.

We would like to take a moment and introduce you to Hazel Waltz! Ms. Waltz has been hired to be a bus driver for the Cle Elum Roslyn School District. She came from Quincy where she drove for several years. You might have seen her last year as she was one of our substitutes. She is now the driver for Route H.

Save the Date! Our Winter Concert will be Wednesday, December 18th, in the Elementary Gymnasium from 6:00-7:00pm. Our theme this year is "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree". We look forward to seeing you all there!
We would like to take a moment and introduce you to Dori Watts! Ms. Watts has been hired as a paraeducator for the Cle Elum-Roslyn Elementary School. "Hi, my name is Dori Watts. I am super excited to join the team at CERSD and help students reach their goals in education. My lifelong career has always been to enhance the lives of young people. I graduated from CWU with my Bachelors Degree in Education. I’ve had a variety of experiences from Substitute Teaching, working in Preschool programs and running my own Preschool. I have 4 adult children, two boys and two girls and 1 granddaughter; they are my world and I am extremely proud of all they have accomplished. Spending time with family is so precious in our busy lives,. I also enjoy spending time outdoors camping, hiking, raising animals and gardening. I’m also an avid volunteer, currently involved in The Menastash Grange as a Board Member, a Beginner Grange Leader and a Goat Leader and also a longtime Board Member for the EHS FFA Parent Group."

Cle Elum-Roslyn Elementary is partnering with Cascade Bicycle Club for a bicycle and pedestrian safety education program to students in grades 3-5! Students will participate in a multi-week program in their P.E. class where they will learn important safety skills. All instruction will occur in a managed environment and will be taught by our P.E. teacher, Mrs. Starkovich! A big thank you to Mrs. Starkovich, the Educational Service District 105 (ESD105), and Cascade Bicycle Club for bringing this program together!
Dear Cle Elum-Roslyn School Community, at approximately 7:20 AM, the fire alarms at the High School and music room were activated. The fire department responded within minutes. It was quickly determined that the cause of the activation was as a result of increased water pressure, causing the dry sprinkler system to trip in the music room. Custodial staff were eventually able to drain off excess water pressure and reset the system. This process took approximately 25 minutes and the fire alarms did deactivate at approximately 7:45 AM. Most students had not arrived at school at this time. At no point were any students or staff placed at any risk. We wish to thank our fire department partners for their prompt response. - Cle Elum-Roslyn School District

The Cle Elum-Roslyn School District is partnering with Whole Health Pharmacy for our annual flu shot clinic. Open to staff, students and families during Open House Night on Wednesday, Sept. 18th - 4:30pm-6:30pm - located in the Elementary/Middle School Zen Den. We would like to take a moment and introduce you to Alexis Marshall! Ms. Marshall has been hired as a paraeducator for the Cle Elum-Roslyn Elementary School. "Hi, my name is Alexis! I am excited to start a new chapter in my education career working with the Cle-Elum Roslyn School district as a title paraeducator! I have been a para for 5 years now and am now pursuing my teaching degree with WGU. I was born and raised here in Washington state but moved to Central Washington from Puyallup a year ago. My family and I love spending time outdoors and adventuring around the beautiful PNW. I can’t wait to see where this new adventure takes us!"

We would like to take a moment and introduce you to Taylor Tomich! Ms. Tomich has been hired as our 6-12th Math/Science Teacher at Walter Strom Middle School.
"Hi all! My name is Taylor Tomich and I am so excited to be teaching math at Walter Strom Middle School this year! A little bit about me, I am from Maple Valley, WA and I graduated from Central Washington University with my Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Mathematics and STEM Teaching in June 2024. Outside of school, I enjoy staying active whether it's going on an adventure with my friends, golfing, or going to the gym. I am looking forward to this school year, it is going to be great!"

We would like to take a moment and introduce you to Emma Klein! Ms. Klein has been hired as our 2nd Grade Teacher for the Cle Elum-Roslyn Elementary School. "Hello my name is Emma Klein. I'm so excited to be joining the 2nd grade team at Cle Elum Roslyn Elementary! I have worked with the Ellensburg School District for the last 3 years and I'm so excited to join the CERSD. Outside of school I love spending time with my friends, visiting my family on the Westside, crafting, baking and spending time at Irene Reinhardt Park in the summer. One of my passions for the classroom is building relationships with each of my students. I strive to make everyone feel loved and included. I look forward to meeting all of the students and families of my class!"

We would like to take a moment and introduce you to Laurel Jessop! Ms. Jessop has been hired as our 8th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher for the Walter Strom Middle School.
"Hi, my name is Laurel Jessop and I am absolutely thrilled to be teaching 8th grade ELA and Social Studies at Walter Strom Middle School! I have coached volleyball and worked as a paraeducator at the middle school level for many years, so I am beyond excited to teach my own classes of amazing students. I studied English and Creative Writing at the University of Washington and earned my Master's in Secondary English Education from Western Governors University this past December. While I am new to the area, I have loved every moment that I have spent on this side of the state so far. Outside of teaching, my passions and hobbies are writing, reading, group fitness, traveling, spending time with my cat, being a barista, and spending time outdoors. I look forward to meeting you all this year and I can't wait to see what the year holds!"

We would like to take a moment and introduce you to Kelly Besmer! Ms. Besmer has been hired as a paraeducator for Cle Elum-Roslyn High School.
"Hi my name is Kelly Besmer and I'm excited to be a high school paraeducator for the 2024-2025 school year!
I grew up in the Snoqualmie Valley area and graduated from Mount Si High School and Seattle University. I've worked several years as a paraeducator and athletics coach in Northern California and the Seattle area. I've coached soccer, track, and flag football and worked as a school librarian. I've also worked as a camp counselor for teen adventure camps and at Trader Joe's!
When I'm not working I enjoy playing sports like flag football, road biking, hiking, weight lifting, cross country skiing, and yoga. I also enjoy traveling with my boyfriend, going to sporting events with friends, gardening, cooking, and art projects! A few of my goals for this coming year are to run a marathon, travel to a new country, and get my group fitness certification."

"Hello, my name is McKayla Cheney! I am super excited to begin teaching Kindergarten at Cle Elum-Roslyn Elementary School. I grew up, and still currently live just down the road in Ellensburg! I love spending my free time having fun with my friends and family, and of course my dogs. I also enjoy coaching and playing volleyball, as well as being creative with arts and crafts. I can’t wait to have an amazing school year! "
