SWIFTWATER'S ANNUAL PLANT SALE! Students at Swiftwater have been busy nurturing tomato and pepper plants from seeds as part of a horticulture project. The plants, including 10 tomato varieties and 8 types of peppers, will be available for purchase at the "Celebration of Student Learning (CSL)" on the night of May 23rd from 5:00PM-7:00PM for $3.00 (cash only please). For those unable to make the CSL, online sales will also be available, starting May 20th at: https://www.cersd.org/o/swiftwater/page/swiftwater-plant-sale. **There was a misprint on Plant Sale dates in the Tribune - please note that the information above is correct.**
The Community Health & Wellness Fair will occur Thursday, May 23rd, 5:00pm-7:00pm in the Elementary/Middle School gym during the Celebration of Student Learning. The first 170 students to attend will receive a small prize!
Reminder! The Jazz Café Fundraiser is this Friday, May 17th, from 5:00PM - 8:00PM at the Cle Elum Eagles - 220 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Cle Elum, WA. This is the largest fundraiser for the music program! The Middle School Jazz Band, High School Jazz Band and Aaron Tuchardt's professional Jazz Band "Legions of Jazz" will be performing. There will be a taco dinner, silent auctions, and dessert auctions. Help raise money for clinicians, competition costs, a new trailer and more! Hope to see you there!
Mrs. Wheatley's middle school science class recently got to use their new field microscopes, generously provided by the Cle Elum-Roslyn Education Foundation. Thanks to the Foundation's kind donation, students were able to explore and investigate the intricacies of biology up close, enhancing their learning experience. A huge thank you to the Cle Elum-Roslyn Education Foundation for their support and commitment to enriching our students' education. Your generosity is truly making a difference in our classrooms!

The Cle Elum-Roslyn School District is hosting our 13th annual “Celebration of Student Learning” on Thursday, May 23rd, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This Celebration’s goal is to shine a light on our community of lifelong learners and celebrate the demonstration of their learning in a variety of ways including projects and activities which will be on display for you. This involves all students from Kindergarten thru Seniors. More information to come soon!

Reminder! Tomorrow begins the 7-week Strengthening Families Program. The programs runs every Wednesday, May 8th - June 19th (dinner and free childcare included) at Walter Strom Middle School. This program helps equip parents, youth (ages 10-14), and family with the tools, skills and strategies to build stronger families. Please see the attached flyer and registration form. This week, May 6th - 10th, marks Teacher Appreciation Week! We want to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of our teachers, administrators, support staff, and everyone involved in shaping our students' lives. Traditionally, our District honors all staff during this week, recognizing their combined effort and dedication to providing top-quality education. Whether in classrooms, cafeterias, offices, or playgrounds, each staff member plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment. A heartfelt thank you to our remarkable staff for your passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our students. Your influence goes beyond the classroom, and we are truly fortunate to have you as part of our school community.
At the FBLA State Conference - we had a great turn out with 10 students and two chaperones attending. There were different leadership sessions available such as finance, habits, and team building. All of the members had a lot of fun hanging out with each other, and learning how to be better FBLA members, with eight out of ten members being eligible to go to nationals! We are SO proud of our FBLA members and wish them the best in their future competitions!
STRENGTHENING FAMILIES PROGRAM - Wednesdays | May 8th - June 19th. "Strengthening Families" is a wonderfully enriching and engaging 7-week evidence based, nationally recognized program that equips parents, youth (ages 10-14), and family the tools, skills and strategies to build stronger families! On April 2nd our team installed new phones throughout the district. While we are able to keep the main office numbers for each school and district, it is temporary and will be fully transitioned on June 30th. This means the way you reach us will change. Join us for a fun event this Sunday, April 21st, from 11am-2pm to support our K-12 students! They have created amazing art work, and music groups will be performing songs in the Roslyn Yard. 3rd-4th Grade will perform 11:00am-11:30am. 5th-6th Grade will perform 11:30am-12:00pm, and Middle and High School will perform 12:15pm-2:00pm. Partial Solar Eclipse Eye Safety: with the solar eclipse that will be partially visible tomorrow, Monday, April 8th, we want to take a moment to remind you of the importance of safety precautions for your child's eyes during this rare celestial event. Students will be instructed not to look or glance directly at the sun during the eclipse. While this precaution is being taken, it is essential for parents/guardians to reinforce this message at home, emphasizing the dangers of looking at the sun even when it is partially obscured during the eclipse. In the event that your child experiences any symptoms related to eye discomfort or vision changes following the eclipse, it is crucial to seek professional evaluation from an eye care specialist. Please remember that our school staff are not qualified to assess for eye damage, and it is the responsibility of parents/guardians to ensure the well-being of their children in such circumstances. We appreciate your cooperation in prioritizing the safety and health of our students during this exciting astronomical event. This is a friendly reminder that all schools are on a Half Day Early Release schedule today. The Elementary School will be released at 12:25pm. and the Middle and High Schools will be released at 12:30pm. Buses will be running on an early release time as well. If you have any questions, please call your school's main office.
A friendly reminder to our Hi-Cap Families - Our upcoming Highly Capable Family Night is tomorrow, March 14th, from 4:00pm - 6:30pm. We will be set up in the Hub, located in the Middle School commons, Room 303. We look forward to seeing you there!
Reminder that the Middle School will remain on regular school and bus schedules during the Elementary School Conferences this week: March 12th - March 14th. Please Note: Friday, March 15th, is an Early Release day for ALL SCHOOLS. 12:25pm - Elementary, and 12:30pm for the Middle School and High School.
