SWIFTWATER'S ANNUAL PLANT SALE! Students at Swiftwater have been busy nurturing tomato and pepper plants from seeds as part of a horticulture project. The plants, including 10 tomato varieties and 8 types of peppers, will be available for purchase at the "Celebration of Student Learning (CSL)" on the night of May 23rd from 5:00PM-7:00PM for $3.00 (cash only please). For those unable to make the CSL, online sales will also be available, starting May 20th at: https://www.cersd.org/o/swiftwater/page/swiftwater-plant-sale. **There was a misprint on Plant Sale dates in the Tribune - please note that the information above is correct.**
The Community Health & Wellness Fair will occur Thursday, May 23rd, 5:00pm-7:00pm in the Elementary/Middle School gym during the Celebration of Student Learning. The first 170 students to attend will receive a small prize!
Reminder! The Jazz Café Fundraiser is this Friday, May 17th, from 5:00PM - 8:00PM at the Cle Elum Eagles - 220 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Cle Elum, WA. This is the largest fundraiser for the music program! The Middle School Jazz Band, High School Jazz Band and Aaron Tuchardt's professional Jazz Band "Legions of Jazz" will be performing. There will be a taco dinner, silent auctions, and dessert auctions. Help raise money for clinicians, competition costs, a new trailer and more! Hope to see you there!

The Cle Elum-Roslyn School District is hosting our 13th annual “Celebration of Student Learning” on Thursday, May 23rd, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This Celebration’s goal is to shine a light on our community of lifelong learners and celebrate the demonstration of their learning in a variety of ways including projects and activities which will be on display for you. This involves all students from Kindergarten thru Seniors. More information to come soon!

This week, our 1st and 2nd graders dove into the world of swimming and water safety at the Suncadia pools! Thanks to the generous grant from the Suncadia Community Enhancement Fund, our young learners had the opportunity to receive invaluable instruction in swimming skills and water safety practices. We're grateful for this enriching experience that promotes health and safety for our students!
Reminder! Tomorrow begins the 7-week Strengthening Families Program. The programs runs every Wednesday, May 8th - June 19th (dinner and free childcare included) at Walter Strom Middle School. STRENGTHENING FAMILIES PROGRAM - Wednesdays | May 8th - June 19th. "Strengthening Families" is a wonderfully enriching and engaging 7-week evidence based, nationally recognized program that equips parents, youth (ages 10-14), and family the tools, skills and strategies to build stronger families! On April 2nd our team installed new phones throughout the district. While we are able to keep the main office numbers for each school and district, it is temporary and will be fully transitioned on June 30th. This means the way you reach us will change. Join us for a fun event this Sunday, April 21st, from 11am-2pm to support our K-12 students! They have created amazing art work, and music groups will be performing songs in the Roslyn Yard. 3rd-4th Grade will perform 11:00am-11:30am. 5th-6th Grade will perform 11:30am-12:00pm, and Middle and High School will perform 12:15pm-2:00pm. Partial Solar Eclipse Eye Safety: with the solar eclipse that will be partially visible tomorrow, Monday, April 8th, we want to take a moment to remind you of the importance of safety precautions for your child's eyes during this rare celestial event. Students will be instructed not to look or glance directly at the sun during the eclipse. While this precaution is being taken, it is essential for parents/guardians to reinforce this message at home, emphasizing the dangers of looking at the sun even when it is partially obscured during the eclipse. In the event that your child experiences any symptoms related to eye discomfort or vision changes following the eclipse, it is crucial to seek professional evaluation from an eye care specialist. Please remember that our school staff are not qualified to assess for eye damage, and it is the responsibility of parents/guardians to ensure the well-being of their children in such circumstances. We appreciate your cooperation in prioritizing the safety and health of our students during this exciting astronomical event. This week our district office is welcoming 68 of our youngest learners for the much-anticipated Early Learning Roundup. This heartwarming experience marks the beginning of an exciting journey for our youngest learners as we identify those who will be eligible to enroll in our early learning programs. With enthusiasm, our dedicated team will be engaging in screenings and activities tailored to uncover each child's unique strengths and readiness for preschool and transitional kindergarten. As we continue this important process, we remain committed to providing a nurturing and enriching environment where every child can flourish.
